After stopping all 19 shots he faced in clean-up duty on Monday night, the Blackhawks are going back to Collin Delia for the start on Tuesday night in Carolina.
Delia suffered two ugly losses to the Panthers and Lightning in the season’s first three games and hadn’t seen the ice again before Monday night’s loss. He was good, and coach Jeremy Colliton is giving him the start in the second of three games.
All three of Chicago’s netminders – Delia, Malcolm Subban and Kevin Lankinen – have one year remaining on their current contracts. Delia ($1M) carries the largest cap hit of the three next season. All three are set to be unrestricted free agents after the 2021-22 season.
Colliton also confirmed on Tuesday that Ryan Carpenter (concussion protocol) and Calvin de Haan (hip) aren’t with the team in Carolina.
