Blackhawks Starting Collin Delia On Tuesday

After stopping all 19 shots he faced in clean-up duty on Monday night, the Blackhawks are going back to Collin Delia for the start on Tuesday night in Carolina.

Delia suffered two ugly losses to the Panthers and Lightning in the season’s first three games and hadn’t seen the ice again before Monday night’s loss. He was good, and coach Jeremy Colliton is giving him the start in the second of three games.

All three of Chicago’s netminders – Delia, Malcolm Subban and Kevin Lankinen – have one year remaining on their current contracts. Delia ($1M) carries the largest cap hit of the three next season. All three are set to be unrestricted free agents after the 2021-22 season.

Colliton also confirmed on Tuesday that Ryan Carpenter (concussion protocol) and Calvin de Haan (hip) aren’t with the team in Carolina.

Why not play Delia, let’s look again to see if the talent is there. As for our others, Lankien has seen lots of pucks and he’s got to be tired. Suban is another story. Too many cheap goals he’s let get by. Play’em all one more time and see for next year.

Might as well play Delia, but he’s not a long term solution.

About F-ing time….and Golden Rug….how do we know he is not a solution if he does not play ?? Delia is much better than Subban in the long run, he just did not get the chance to prove it this year.

You know your team is really in trouble when the coach applies “the 3 headed goalie” strategy to cover up for their ineptness. Delia better be wearing extra padding tonight.

Good to see Delia get a start, he’s been a real teammmate this year, taking his lack of ice time in stride and not being a cancer about it. Might be a couple of teams want a goalie to be compliant for expansion draft but looks like they all have a goalie who they can give a qo to as an option too. Wouldn’t be surprised to see Connelly and Stillman back in again, maybe even Entwistle or one of taxi squad guys get a game. I expect a better game to watch tonight.

Agree 100% on Wilson should get lenghty suspension and a joke of a fine is an insult. Obviously Parros has no respect for the game or players either.

Beer league, in four games played in Rockford this season, Delia had a 5.16 gaa and an .858 save percentage. But if it makes you feel better I don’t think Subban is a long term solution either.

    Line up should be

    DCat Dach Hagel
    Vinnie Guadette Kubalik
    Suter Entwhistle Kurashev
    Connelly Morrison Hardman

    Beaudin Mitchell
    Kalynuk Krys
    Stillman Regula

Against Dallas must add Murphy and Zadorov and any beef that we may have cuz its going to be playoff hockey for Dallas.

    Bout time…

Ian, just saw the Wilson incident, this guy should be suspended indefinitely PERIOD ! The NHL only pretends to care about player safety, Parris in charge of player safety is the same as Iran being on the Women’s rights council….a complete joke.
If the Rangers do nothing, then they are a gutless team, the Rangers need to shoot some HARD slap shots his way, a few good stick chops to his knees and ankles would be nice too….he is a skilled player, but he has zero respect for other players or the rules of the game.

Here is what the remaining 4 games is about:

    Colliton’s record is 84-82-13.

He desperately needs to finish this year over .500. and must win at 2 of the remaining 4 to do so.. He cannot afford to be under .500 after 3 seasons after taking over for Q who was .500 (6-6-3) for the season when they fired him.

    Beer league
I like it ..let just shoot heavy shots on him …on ankle and feet could be good also .
5000$. That’s a real nonsense….who’s in charge of this guy who gave the fine.
Punching Panarin when he his on the ice … day one player will use his stick and smash him on the head..then the league will be responsible for that incident.
How many time did he lost control since he is in the league ?
Enough is Enough…before something bad hapend like with Hossa incident.

I missed why Dach is not in the lineup. Is he hurt or is this a pressbox wakeup?

  • May 4, 2021 at 7:45 pm

Edman, on the radio they said Dach is out with an aggravated scar tissue from his wrist surgery.

Last empty netter was fine. You scored on a 6 on 5 previously. I understand 6 on 4 but think it was premature due to the fact of the success before. That being said it was a good game played. Highlights and learning situations with the predicted outcome that helps our future agenda. Predicting the 11th pick possibly even 10th.

The problem with Wilson is many fold. When he came into the league he was protected with the new mandatory visor rule and made sure to wear a nice big one, unlike guys like Luke Gazdic etc who wore the tiniest ones or dropped their buckets to make it fair. He came in at a time where many of the legit heavies were punch drunk and/or on their way out. The ones that were around and still game, he ducked. Now, no one carries guys that are their to chuck em and protect stars from guys like him. Wilson is scared of Reaves, but there are literally no other enforcers within his division to keep him honest. He plays and acts like a coward. He is more Ulf than Semenko that is for sure. He is not a legitimate enforcer but more of a symptom of what the new “enforcer” role has become due to the supposed “player safety”.

And for the record, Parros is a clown and was never a legit heavy. He had such terrible balance, he would be face down with a busted dome long before he and whomever he was fighting had a chance to get going. I liked Big John Scott’s comments on the situation. Wilson is a punk. Always has been, always will be, but we can thank the NHL for guys like him flourishing in today’s game. I like how whenever he gets rocked or takes a clean hit, he literally cries and whines at the officials, but when he head hunts he acts like the other guy is acting.
