I know there is a lot of Bolland bashing out there. I would say that this is the kind of series the Hawks could use his skills. Bolland gets bashed a lot for unflashy play and unsexy numbers on a team that has those things in abundance. To me Bolland still represents the perfect 3d line center (if he could win a few more faceoffs). But on this team with the chemistry on the 3d line, Bolland is the odd man out. Not good enough to be a 2cd line center, too valuable to be a 4th line center.
That said, Bowman may be looking at next year. Hawks will lose somebody on the 3d line. Whoever that is will push Shaw to a wing and might just put Bolland in the middle.

I also hope Emery recovers sooner rather than later. ALL teams need a steady back up to win the cup.

    GO HAWKS

I think Ray and Bolland are nursing groin injuries. No need to hurry either of them back in my opinion. I very much like our lines as they are currently set. We should expect more of the same from the Wild tonight. They will try and clog the middle of the ice and shut down passing lanes. They will basically clear their zone and give us back the puck. Teams like the Wild are boring to watch, but unless they play the trap and stay at home we will skate them out of the rink. They will rely on their keeper to make big saves, not cough up rebounds, and keep them in the game. If we can get a 2 goal lead Minny will have to open it up and that’s the game we want.

So everyone take a nap this afternoon and get ready for game 2. The 8:30 start really blows and being a Friday night the UC crowd will be well lubed up for better or worse.

    Let’s Go Hawks!
