Canada Defeats Norway 3-1

In their first game of the Olympic tournament, Canada defeated Norway 3-1. Shea Weber, Jamie Benn and Drew Doughty scored for the Canadians, and Patrick Thoresen was credited with the only tally for Norway.

Duncan Keith was credited with an assist on Weber’s goal in the first period, and was in the penalty box when Thoresen scored. Patrick Sharp also spent two minutes in the penalty box. Jonathan Toews led all Canadian forwards in ice time (16:51). Sharp was on the ice for 14:21 without putting a shot on net.

Canada’s next game is Friday.

For Norway, one-time Blackhawks prospect Mathis Olimb was credited with the assist on Thoresen’s goal.
