Chicago Blackhawks Recall Dylan Olsen, Add Andrew Shaw To Roster

The Chicago Blackhawks made a number of roster moves on Wednesday morning.

Defenseman Dylan Olsen was recalled from Rockford and forward Andrew Shaw was added to the active roster while Marcus Kruger and Steve Montador were both placed on injured reserve.

Olsen, the top blue line prospect in the organization (with all due respect to Brian Connelly), is listed at 6’3 and 220 pounds and was the organization’s first round pick (28th overall) in the 2009 Draft. He has one goal, one assist and 38 penalty minutes in 30 games with the IceHogs this year. Olsen turned 21 yesterday.

Shaw just signed his entry-level contract earlier this week and now has been added to the Hawks’ roster as well.

Tab – So much for you saying that it is too early for Shaw. Seems the Hawks brass disagrees.

And I still don’t think he’s ready. But we’ll see how he does in Philly on Thursday night.

    Tab- who’s your Daddy!!!

BTW- who was the 1st guy on this site to suggest Olsen getting a shot when Monty, Scott, and most of the “D” was sucking it up earlier this year.

I know these kids are not difference makers… but we need to judge talent, and award time and experience —for the future.
