The indian head flag flew at half-mast on this day in Blackhawks history. I believe the future considerations was for the Penguins to consider taking Jordan Staal ahead of Toews. And they did. You are welcome Chicago.

Hearing that #Blackhawks have serious interest in Hamhuis & Vrbata. No word yet on whether Hamhuis is willing to waive NTC. #Canucks

Lets hope the Hawks have zero interest in those nucks bums that would be a huge let down.

Agree Southside on those bums. Vrbata is an over the hill right wing with marginal scoring ability and a -32 on the year. We need a skilled high scoring LEFT wing. The guy is a stiff.

I read Toronto had an interest in taking Bickell’s cap hit but of course they need motivation.

The motivation might be Ryan Hartman Ryan Hartman.

For anyone thinking JVR was a possibilityNick Kyprios is reporting he is done for the season.

Was suppose to be ready in early March but it sounds like the Leafs are shelving him. Was still in crutches today.

Please please please do not trade for Hamhuis. Vrbata I could stomach but BOTH are too expensive. Between them $9.5mm Cap hit. If SB gonna spend that kinda dough there are better options. I would say they are under consideration because a) Nucks will retain some salary, both contracts end this year and, b) Nucks are gonna ask for little in return.

Do we need the Foley Karpotsev rant audio again? Foley said they’d be lucky to get a bag of pucks. Pretty sure Hammer is a little better than a bag of pucks.

“… interest in Hamhuis & Vrbata” — NO Thanks. Trades are best when you acquire an actual upgrade.

I would prefer grabbing someone cheaper who is good who we could hold onto.

Maybe they could swing PA Parenteau for Bickell, a prospect like McNeil, and a later round pick? No idea what Parenteau is really worth. Maybe a lesser prospect than McNeil.
