DeBrincat, Boqvist To Miss “At Least” 2 Weeks

According to Jeremy Colliton, forward Alex DeBrincat and defenseman Adam Boqvist will miss “at least” two weeks after being placed on the COVID Protocol List.

With those two out of the lineup in Nashville on Tuesday, Chicago will skate Lucas Carlsson on the blue line in place of Boqvist and Matthew Highmore in place of DeBrincat up front.

Malcolm Subban will get the start in the first game in Nashville.

Tough break. Hopefully both come back fully healthy.

“at least two weeks and then go from there” … ouch. Well, opportunity for some other players so might as well make the best of it.

Subban in and my guess would be Lanky in tomorrow in this back to back.

By the way – I saw on another blog that this DCat’s “iron man” streak will now be broken. He’s played every game since he broke into the NHL a few years ago. I think the number of games is 240. Another bummer. Bummers all over da place.

Sounds like one of them at least tested positive – I hope this is contained to just those two – can’t really afford more players to miss time unless it’s so many that the team is completely grounded a la Dallas for a while

So for Boqvist that means missing two weeks in addition to the two he has already missed.

    Let’s go Mitchell!

OK, I couldn’t resist getting in a shot at Boqvist. However, if Mitchell takes advantage of the opportunity he hopefully gets and can establish himself in a more regular role that is a good thing. Boqvist on the other hand is far from ready and should either be in Rockford when they start up or restricted to sheltered minutes. This might actually turn out to be a good thing for both guys.

Subban in goal tonight, I’ll say 6 goals against .

Disagree with Colliton starting Subban tonight..I know this was supposed to be a competition all year between three goalies, but if one of them shows they deserve to start, you let them start until shown otherwise. Lankinen should be in net tonight and then let Subban or Delia take the second start of the back to back. Even though it’s early into the season, I’ve seen enough out of Subban to know that he’s not the answer.

PS-Anyone taken a look at Jesper Wallstedt’s stat’s in the SHL this year? He’s been a complete wall all season so far..with no consensus number one or number two prospect in this year’s upcoming draft (I personally wouldn’t draft Power lower than two but that’s just me), could a goalie crack the top 3? And if the Hawks took Wallstedt at number 2 or 3, would Hawks fans be disappointed? I don’t think I would be..I don’t see any center that warrants a top 3 pick this year and beyond Power, the other top defensemen haven’t done enough yet to separate themselves..I think I would go Wallstedt at two overall if the Hawks don’t get the top pick. Take the very best prospect at that position, regardless if it’s goalie.

I think Duncan Keith must have signed an autograph or winked at “Billy Reay’s” “significant other” at one time back in the day. Or he’s just insanely jealous of the future Hall of Famer. But that’s just my opinion.

ER, I know it prob officially count but I would say any virus things should not count against stats.

Slayer, I think it would be fine though it would mean we have to draft a D guy in 22 draft and another ufa wise. Which how many good D guys are there in the 22 draft and we might not be top 3/5 in 22 draft more like 6-10/not sure right now.

It is were on pace for another top 3 gem like 77. 2020 we were on pace for a 9th pick but because Bettman is Bettman we get 17th and the Rangers get 1st.

    Very funny Hammer.

That Billy Reay guy sure has a Jones for Keith doesn’t he?

Reminds me of a guy who sat behind me down low at the UC towards the end of Chelios’ tenure in Chicago.

The place was empty, the Hawks sucked, Good tix were very cheap.

So of course, a loudmouth in the 4th row kept yelling, “You suck, Chelios”, while Chelios was playing the whole damn game.

Couple fans around me called him out…..

    Funny how life repeats itself.

Its a tight horse race early on. If we play this good without 20 50 77 19 OTT and DET might be to hard to catch. Still 3 spot before ping pong balls can get us 2nd or 3rd pick.

    OTT 3
    DET 2
    VAN 2
    NYR 2
    CHI 1
    ARI 1
    BUF 1
    EDM 1

Having to take 8 wins against DET really sucks because they belong in the east where they tucked tailed and run. Of all yrs Bettman lets DET back in the division its on maybe the only yr we donot want them here.

Can’t wait til Slowest player on Hawks team either gets traded, ( but no one really that dumb to take him) or retires so Hawks can get back to Winning ways.
Yeah that be boy wonder, Keith .
What impact did he have today on the team?
    Oh yeah, they lost…lol

Perimeter Player: Its funny you mention that about Chelly, I do remember back then when a couple of knuckleheads would get on him, for what I have no idea. Also it was funny that Keith was +1 last night and ZIPPO from him.
