Fans Coming Back to the United Center May 7

On Thursday morning, the Blackhawks and Bulls announced the United Center received permission from city and state government officials to welcome fans back to the arena beginning May 7, 2021. The teams will be able to host approximately 25 percent of capacity.

This means Blackhawks fans could be in the seats for the final two home games of the season against the Dallas Stars. Sadly, it doesn’t look like playoff tickets will need to go on sale in 2021.

When they made the United Center lots a mass Vaccination Site the writing was on the wall that there would be little to no fan participation in events scheduled. 2 Games of fans???? If I am the Hawks and Bulls I would not view it as worth it. Typical City of Chicago move to save face knowing that neither team will be involved in the playoffs. The United Center was the only professional venue not allowing fans in the country. Wonder if they will be demanding Vaccination Cards to attend or maybe they will vaccinate you on your way in.

The timing is suspect. The Blackhawks are eliminated from the playoffs, two games left, “Hey fans, we’re open.” I understand the city-state People’s Republic of Illinois is allowing this to happen. Too bad it just seems like a hollow gesture.

Read the fine print before you purchase tickets to any Chicago event. Before entering the venue,in most cases, you must be able to present verification ,via phone app, that you have a negative COVID Test within 3 days of the event or a Vaccination Card. I know this is not the place for views on this practice but those are the facts and you should know that before making a decision to attend these events in Chicago.

Meanwhile – People leaving Dem run cities in droves to Texas/Florida.

What sounds better Houston/or San Antonio Blackhawks?

The politicians are beginning to believe that there is more downside to their careers than upside by continued lockdowns.

It will be good to see some red sweaters in the stands. It has been a long time. But all the Hawks will be playing for is to be a potential spoiler for Dallas and maybe not even that. They could be completely meaningless games. Wonder how much 300 level seats will be on StubHub.

Mayor Beetlejuice…. clueless and dumb as a rock, turning the great city of chicago into detroit 2.0. allowing limited fans in at the end of the season is a worth less gesture. Every other team in the league has had fans for a while already. Just plain stupid.
