Ian Mitchell, Matt Tomkins On Canada’s Spengler Cup Roster
What was rumored earlier is now a reality: Blackhawks prospect Ian Mitchell will skate for Canada in the Spengler Cup.
IceHogs goaltender Matt Tomkins and Kris Versteeg are also on the roster.

Hey Tab can you give me your scouting report on Ian Mitchell Also, who do you compare him to on the current Hawks or anyone else in the NHL

Hossahawk – I’ve compared him you a young Duncan Keith before. Smart, plays every inch of the ice well, leads. Everything you want from a top pair defenseman. Maybe not quite the skater 2 was in his prime but he’ll be special if the Blackhawks can figure out a way to get him on the ice and have coaches who help him develop at the NHL level. I don’t think he’ll spend much/any time in Rockford.

Good to see for tompkins also. I think he’s working his way to a contract with a NHL team soon.
