Jonathan Toews In Concussion Protocol

With the Colorado Avalanche coming into town, the Blackhawks were without their captain at the morning skate.

I was actually quite surprised they didn’t call him back to the dark room after the hit

It is kind of like with Shaw. When is it enough? You understand these guys not wanting to quit, but we have seen far too many times what happens with continued concussions. Here’s to hoping that he is OK with no symptoms and that he will be back. You can see from that replay that the potential is definitely there for some damage. It did not appear to be a bad hit. Good luck, Captain.

Hoping you get well soon Capt. Serious!

Maybe just go on LTIR to end your glorious HOF worthy career. There’s
nothing left to prove. So play it safe and enjoy the rest of your life.

Agree Ian especially with Toews and his concussion history – I still wince when I think about him cutting into the middle of the ice in the slot vs the Bruins in Game 5? (I think) of the Final and getting clocked in the head by Boychuk (again someone correct me if my memory is fuzzy) – he stayed on the bench but didn’t play after that during that game anyway

That was that crazy game where Bergeron went to the hospital during the game – as I recall both Bergeron and Toews played the next game – Bergeron with a punctured lung and Toews with a likely concussion – hockey players man!

Personally I don’t think he’s been quite the same after that hit – yes the Hawks won again in 2015 but Toews wasn’t as dominant as he had been then after 2015 the slide just continued

Hope he’s ok and hope he does the right thing when his time has come – we can’t know when that is from where we watch from but he’ll know

Now this…I really feel sorry for Toews! You can tell that the poor guys is absolutely drained by the end of every game. I just always pray that he doesn’t pull a Christian Erickson on the ice. I think for his sake now that he’s had his upteenth concussion, and with the immunity issues that JT salutes the crowd at years end and calls it a career! He has nothing left to prove! He’s made at least $100M in career earnings, he’s captained 3 Stanley Cup Champions, and he’s a sure fire Hall of Famer…I say stay alive and keep the rest of your brain cells intact. But, that’s just me!

Thank you Neil, we cannot look at the on ice performance of Toews from 2010-2015 and give him a pass on his off ice cowardice and TRUE lack of leadership and selfishness. His words last year about Beach and his flat out lies just goes to show he has not grown up or realized his mistakes….only to double down on his lies. One day one can only hope he realizes this and falls to his knees and begs for forgiveness. Same goes for this Organization.

Thank you beer league your a straight shooter this teams work ethic is pathetic and toews is a joke thought a captain sticks up for his guys and doesn’t bully in practice not captain serious no wonder why the players liked Stan he overpaid and made loafing a top priority amen
