Well, 16 will be available again next season because Ladd is a rental and Kruger is very unlikely to be back because of the salary cap game.

It’s weird because Kruger has played more games for the Hawks than Ladd. And when these things happen it’s usually at the beginning of the year.

Because of his injury and only having 1 point in 33 games I wouldn’t be surprised if Kruger signs a similar deal this summer.

    Lastly, Jackets have recalled Paliotta.

Marcus Kruger continues to make decisions that put his team and teammates first. He exeudes class. Ladd will no doubt repay in kind.

kruger’s hard work, talent within his important role and incredible loyalty to the hawks last summer should be rewarded: they should sign him for a cap friendly number and gaurantee it for 10 years so he is safe economically no matter how long he plays:

that dude is a loyal hardworking stud in a tough role and stan and his dad couldn’t have done all the magic here without guys like kruger TVR and dejarden (sp?) and shaw and darling etc playing great cameo roles for way under what they might get in the open market: my hope is ladd is willing to stay here for similar reasons and discounts.

we shall see, but awfully divine to be a hawks fan since 2009: in rocky and the bowmans and Q I trust!

tab, check this out: from damien cox of toronto star post ladd trade:

Rental Player- Re: Kruger… completely agree – the guy deserves some loyalty from the Hawks… he is a rare breed in today’s Pro sports…

Hope Wirtz gives the kid a job for life (maybe teaching face-offs… )

Hino has scored 2g and 2 a since being sent to Rock… Mcneill and Kero are still scoring… guessing SB likes 16, and Rock boys better than Danault…

Motte- might be most complete- Motor like Shaw, actually heavier, + scoring, and quicker

    and Hawks are ALL IN!!!

Now dump Handcuffs- and get a stud top 4 D man!!!!

    Rufus… your boy is gone!!!

Okay, the suspense is killing me. When are they going to announce Bickell and McNeil to the Maple Leafs for a bag of pucks so we get that 4 million off the books for next year?

Sad to see Danault traded, hard working class act,.,.he should have a long career in Montreal. Habs dumped some puzzle pieces that just would,nt fit ,.,and picked up a young stud with great promise .I hope the Habs make the playoffs so Canada has someone reprezentin!! Nuff said.

Don’t know if I would term Danault a young stud. Panerin is a young stud. Danault is a solid looking nhl third liner.m

Hard to believe Mark McNeill outlasted Denault in the Hawks organization.

Brokerwayne these decisions are made amongst the players with status and seniority -if you will – determining the outcome. It really is a respect thing amongst the players themselves, not the team, unless obviously the number has been retired.

I always preferred Danault over Mcneill….

but there is an outside chance… that Hawks actually value Mcneill more…
Mcneill has WAY more offense than 24… 24 is really a bigger version of 16 ( not as quick reading the play- but might be faster skater than 16)…

wts- Mcneill has shown tons of improvement in overall game… and Can actually shoot the puck versus both 16/24… so one can say… Mcneill is developing still…
16/24 are all ready the “best” muckers – they are gonna be (16 being way better on PK and FO’s now)

we shall see- but really Mcneill could be moved real soon… or perhaps SB is slow playing/paying/developing him into a very Cheap deal next year???
