Hummm….not a good news for the kids …
Don’t touch Hagel and Kurashev.let them play another 40 games minimum. ;)

Hawks2010 – I agree and would add Suter to that list – 23/24/38 all need to be playing every game unless they need a day of rest.

Wallmark was already healthy scratched before Covid protocol

Maybe he could come in for Soderberg but not one of the kids at least until they falter

I don’t think there is any issue here. Hawks were playing with only 11 forwards. Either Wallmark goes on the fourth line and we play six D or he plays for Soderberg and we play with 7 D. I can’t envision a scenario where Wallmark takes minutes away from Hagel, Suter, or Kurashev unless like Ebonyraptor says, they just need a maintenance day. I’ll also be completely honest, I never notice Soderberg when he’s out there. I guess that’s good and bad. He’s never completely out of position to where he stands out, but he also never stands out in anyway offensively. If you started Wallmark in his place, I probably would never know. They feel interchangeable to me.

ps-anyone know who is playing center for the Blue Jackets now? After trading PLD and Koivu retiring, who’s left at the dot for them? Jenner? On the top line? Yikes. Usually I wouldn’t suggest a trade within the division, but technically this isn’t a team in our division beyond this year. With the Hawks having a surplus of line 3 centers like Soderberg, Wallmark, and Carpenter, they’re a team worth talking to.

Wallmark is faster than Soderberg who is noticeably slow but Soderberg is responsible and smart just not very fast

I would like to give Wallamrk a chance in his place especially since Wallmark may be re-signed if he can contribute – Soderberg won’t be

To be honest, in the first few games of the season I was more impressed with Wallmark than Janmark. And, was quite surprised that he was benched. Now, I have come to appreciate Janmark so much, but think that Wallmark needs to play. I think the guy who is not giving us much now is Andrew Shaw. Maybe, interchange Shaw, Sodeberg, and Wallmark and go with the two guys who fit best.

Tommy I- I always thought both of the Marks Bros. were under-rated.

    Janmark- has more speed
    Wallmark- better vision- but slower

Slowest – Soderberg- who does have good positioning/IQ

I want to see more Wallmark- before Brass 1 or 2 of these guys at TDL

Slayerforever I like having the 7 Dmen dressed because deHaan is one solid hit from being out. Just not sure about his health and to be honest? I think Beaudin or Carlsson could fill his spot now without missing a beat. I’m really really impressed with how these rookie D men are playing even with their flaws that will go away with ice time.
