Marian Hossa Active vs. Sharks
At the end of the Blackhawks live broadcast of their morning skate on Friday, coach Joel Quenneville confirmed that Marian Hossa will dress against the San Jose Sharks.
Defenseman Brent Seabrook is expected to play tonight as well.
Quenneville also indicated that Daniel Carcillo could return to the lineup as well, meaning the Blackhawks will have two forwards listed as healthy scratches. Brandon Bollig and Jamal Mayers would be the most likely candidates for an evening in the press box.
Also, Corey Crawford returned to practice. The Hawks are expected to send Henrik Karlsson back to Rockford at some point in the not-too-distant future.
Steve Montador took part in the team practice as well. If/When he comes back, the Blackhawks will have to make another roster decision on their blue liine; the Hawks are carrying seven defensemen without including Montador.
Sit Gutless Bickel, put in Mayers or Bolig to deak with Thornton. How could either do less than Bickel contributes, either he starts checking or sit him?
Thumbs up to the Blackhawks for webcasting the morning skate, for a Hawks nut like me I love it! Hopefully they do more of it. Go Hawks! Nice to see the Hawks moving towards a full strenght roster.
Bickell leads the Hawks in the hit department by far. That third line has also been fantastic. Just because he isn’t some clown that gets in fights doesn’t make him gutless. Go home Alan, you’re drunk.
I can’t believe Montador is still trying to play hockey. How long do you have to deal with concussion symptoms before you realize it’s time to hang ’em up?
Over/Under on when Carcillo takes his first stupid penalty. We’ll set the line at 16:30 into the first.
JS over,….I think it wont be until later in the game 5 min mark of the 2nd period. I’m not a Car Bomb hater. I like the guys game when he plays under control which unfortunately he doesnt do all the time. I say he stays in check for a while. The Sharks dont have alot of agitators outside of Ryan Clowe which should keep Carcillo tame.
Love the over/under on bets on the penalty. I really like Carcillo and actually appreciate his game. He has to play one way…on the edge, but I believe he has some skill. The 3rd or 4th line is perfect for him and that is his spot in the league. I’m going 8:00 mark 2nd Period…
I’m thinking it’s going to be under. He’ll be pretty amped up to go out there and prove that he’s the grittiest of gritty and he’ll probably hit someone too high. Not to mention refs tend to stare at him when he’s on the ice because he’s always doing something stupid.
We should probably have more over/under games.
What is defined as stupid penalty? Some kinda hook or slash or something suspendable?
I think the more interesting question is what happens first suspension or injury…
I think 14:49 in the 3rd he injures his knee again. Over/Under?? lol
I hope stays healthly long enough to actually start playing for the Hawks. He brings some grit, edge, and fiestness that makes them even tougher to play against
I’ll be the contrarian and predict Carcillo with 12:43 TOI, 3 hits, 0 penalties, and an assist on a goal by Frolik.
First, great news on Hoss…also, its important that Seabrook is back, as Oduya did not look great playing 3o minutes…why the negative comments on Bickell…he has had a very strong season thus far…he has had 3 games where he hasn’t brought the same intensity, but for the most part he’s been an important part of this team…
Carcillo back on the 4th line playing 7 to 8 minutes tonight makes the Hawks a better team…Kruger, Frolik and Carcillo is a dangerous line once they gel…
I like our chances tonight!
We’re all glad Hossa is back!!
Maybe Carcillo can play without taking stupid penalties? We’ll see. He would seem to add more skill to the line with Kruger and Frolik.
Did anyone else think the CSN/webcast of the morning skate was mostly a commercial for Ed Olczyk?
GO HAWKS!!
DD doesn’t matter about Ed O. My wife is a Wings fan, daughter a Pens fan…..we see a lot of hockey. Ed O and Foley are the best broadcast by far……..
Had to listen to the game last night (which sucks for hockey). Carcillo was not much of a factor. Maybe he was fatigued first game back. With Bolland out in the third I don’t recall hearing Carcillo’s name at all……maybe that’s just radio. But if Q won’t play him in the third of a close game……dress Mayers. I also agree that Carcillo belongs on the fourth line.
