NHL All-Star Game Starters Announced

On Thursday morning, the six “starters” in the 2012 All-Star Game were announced, based on fan voting. With the game in Ottawa, the Senators predictably ruled the day. All three forwards – Daniel Alfredsson, Jason Spezza and Milan Michalek – and the game’s leading vote recipient, defenseman Erik Karlsson, will represent the home team.

The other players voted into the game by fans were Toronto defenseman Dion Phaneuf and Boston netminder Tim Thomas. Jonathan Toews led all Blackhawks players, receiving over 341,000 voted and finishing eighth among forwards. For the final vote totals, click here.
