NHL Postpones Blackhawks at Oilers
The Blackhawks were supposed to face Duncan Keith as an opponent in Edmonton on Jan. 18.
Were.
The NHL postponed the game on Wednesday night. This shouldn’t come as a surprise given Canada’s current COVID restrictions.
Yes! Here in Canada it’s Covid ,Covid ,Covid ! We now have daily updates of a lot of restrictions ! Tonight in Toronto , Oilers at Leafs with 0 spectators ! All hockey in Ontario Arenas has been cancelled ! That is 1000 ‘s of teams ! Hospitals are totally overwhelmed ! 2 years of Covid is approaching ! All our restaurants and bars are now closed ! We are all hunkered down ! At 8 tonight I went out to fill my car with gas and there’s nobody around , it’s just awful , POPS 4
Let’s see who gets thrown into the “Penalty Box” today for talking about the dreaded “C” word!!!!!
Can Vancouver play their home games in Seattle. Can Toronto play in Buffalo. Ottawa in NY. Calgary Edmonton in SJ and Colorado. Winnipeg in Minnesota. Maybe Montreal here.???? Only the $$$$ know.
Oh Canada !! Can we send Toews and Dach back with the hopes they get quarantined for the next 3 years ??
Speaking of the Oilers. They need a goalie bad. Can intern KiD GM get Koskinen Kassian plus pry a #1 for MAF.
Just shut the league down already. Fans aren’t interested in empty arenas and bubble playoffs.
Need a game in Winnipeg rescheduled, be able to fit both as a quick road trip later on.
It was sort of Eerie last night watching the leafs at scotiabank arena ! Blue tarps covering all the lower sections of seating ! They are calling it Omicrontario across our province ! I hope I don’t get the gate for opening my mouth about Covid ! We are trying to lessen the blow of Covid by locking down ! Pops 4
Why oh why is the NHL the only league close to shutting down?
The NBA is alright, NFL no problem, College FB a hiccup here and there same w/college BB
but no the NHL hasn’t a clue.
If we can’t learn to live w/Covid we are doomed anyway
The OHL is still going to play

Question ?
Let say Hawks win at lottery the first round pick or the second . Automatically it goes to Columbus ? Right ?
I read that it’s not the case on another forum. I think they are wrong but now I am not sure anymore.
Do you know ?
No the pick is lottery protected, 1st or 2nd picks and Columbus would get next years regardless if it was a lottery puck or not in that case and Blackhawks would pick 1st or 2nd this year.
Wow,,,thx
Omicron A.K.A the common cold…..and it shuts down an entire country….know why testing facilities and hospital are ” overwhelmed” ? The government has put fear into everyone that if you have a sniffle, sneeze or you cough…..go get tested, go to the hospital….it’s a freaking joke. And their experiment is working…. y’all fell for it….hookline and sinker.
And I agree, just shut everything down if the league is so scared of this… it’s pathetic. Zero deaths or hospitalizations of NHL athletes….and yet all of this fear….again, it’s a freaking joke.
4 year old girl in Ontario just passes away of co-vid. It may be milder but it has real consequences.
My mother-in-law got the vaccine and died a week later. This is a hockey site – can we please keep it that way. There are other sites where you can spew. I feel sorry for the girl and her family, but this is not the forum!
It’s the most pressing issue both in the world and hockey right now. It was a response to the post before-I had no desire to bring anything up other than hockey.
Didn’t start it but I will speak up.
watch out folks speaking your mind on a post will get you a double minor from Tab
Maybe Hawks get lucky and get the first or second choice with the lottery…That would change everything . Cross finger
@Hawks2010…….It may not be a total change but it would be a beginning
Interesting stats……not much difference between the Yotes and us
Blackhawks — Statistic — Coyotes
46.84% (26th) — 5-on-5 Corsi For — 46.38% (28th)
45.78% (29th) — 5-on-5 Expected goals for — 44.81% (32nd)
2.24 (30th) — Goals per game — 2.24 (32nd)
3.39 (25th) — Goals against per game — 3.77 (32nd)
48.7% (21st) — Faceoffs — 48.1% (23rd)
18.9% (17th) — Power play — 14.3% (29th)
75.3% (28th) — Penalty kill — 70.2% (31st)
2010, I would rather lose our pick this year. We can trade someone (probably only MAF) for a number one this year to replace the puck that Columbus gets from us. Even still would rather get a #1 for 2023 from any trade.
This Bedard kid is the next Kane. Would trade 2 #1s to get him. Maybe more. He is the pick for 2023.
