Pekka Rinne Staying In Nashville

On Thursday morning, the Nashville Predators agreed to terms on a new seven-year, $49M contract with netminder Pekka Rinne.

Rinne was a Vezina finalist last year, when he posted a 33-22-9 record, 2.12 goals against average and .930 save percentage – all numbers that probably would have won the award any other year (thanks, Tim Thomas).

Thursday is Rinne’s 29th birthday.
