That’s nice, Tootoo is finally gone as the vast majority of us have constantly set forth for a year; in exchange for that, Bouma & Wingels are both on the team b/c Bowman made a mistake signing them. Anyone who knows anything about hockey can tell rather quickly Hinostroza (not to mention Kampf, Dauphin and others sent down) is a far better and more useful player than both Bouma & Wingels.

Bowman traded a 3rd round pick for Jurco and re-signed him for no apparent reason; he saw fit to recognize this mistake and place Jurco on waivers. Why not these other two guys, particularly Bouma? No one would claim Bouma on waivers (or Wingels for that matter) at $1M salary/cap hit. He doesn’t pass the eye test or statistical measurements.

We’ve seen in the non-Stanley Cup years how one incapable forward can eliminate the rolling 4 lines formula, leading Q to shortening the bench and mixing, matching and overusing the remaining 10 or 11 forwards. This is going to drag down Hayden as well, playing w/ someone like Bouma instead of Hinostroza.

(Iceman) I mostly agree. If Q feels he must keep ONE, I think Wingels showed (a little) more in the preseason games. (You were correct about Bouma – “an anchor”.)

Hinostroza has NHL speed – not a bad thing for a 4th line “energy” player. I am surprised, but credit to Stan B. for “correcting” his mistake with Jurco. Keeping Rundblad around was a wasted roster space.

“Half-FULL” – Kampf, Dauphin and others sent down are available for call-up…

These send downs will be temporary. Hino and Jurco will both be back. Hino will be a regular by mid season

Jurco is the mystery. Big hat, no cattle syndrome. Can’t seem to bring his skills on a shift by shift basis. He is only 24 so maybe……..

We all have our opinions so not all of us will be happy with every decision, but looking at the big picture – my opinion is that of the prospects, the three that should have made the team based on merit – DeBrincat, Hayden and Rutta – did. Whether Hinostroza and Forsling should have made the team over Bouma and Oesterle can be debated, but at least 12/40/44 are on the team.

oops – premature posting on my part. When I saw Forsling wasn’t at practice today I assumed he was sent down, but Powers just tweeted than Forsling and Murphy expected back at practice tomorrow.

Still be 3 more sent down to get under cap to start season and recalled. He could send 40, 12 and 44 for one day and rexall 48 and be under $25,000 if they want to be real close.

Actually Iacopelli instead if 48 might be 75m right on the nose.

Looks like the opening night forwards will be :

Hayden and D-Cat earned a spot on the opening night roster. I would still prefer D-Cat on the second line. The jury is still out on how effective Sharp can be. I agree with Iceman- Bouma, Tootoo and Wingels are marginal at best. Q gave D-Cat a good shot. Hopefully he sticks with him during the rookies ups and downs.

It’s not perfect but at least 22 and 13 were sent down. 34 hopefully he clears.

Any news with Franson? If we have the cap space is he a guaranteed signing? I hope not…

Hawks will be 2018 stanley cup Champion!
Brandon Saad is better than Me!

Mo heard Vegas gm say they would be moving a dman and haven’t yet. Garrison, Sbisa and McNab all ufa s at end of season , can’t help but think might be unfinished business with them.

Wow, sad comments by some clueless hockey fans. Very disgraceful to have this language on board. Anyway, 3 right handed shots playing left wing on Hawks lineup. Again???
More back hand passes coming out of our zone. Really hope a left winger like Iacopelli steps it up in AHL and gets a shot at the NHL. Tought JURCO deserved 10 to 15 games. Feel foe Vinny, deserves to be on team more than BOUMA and WINGELS. I am not of fan of Kero as well. Too bad, same old , same old…Bowman signing free agent joiurneymen. Why?

    CUT: Wingels, Bouma, Kero, Franson

Ian, I was liking the one they did trade and there are some good others still there. What are the caphits of the good ones they have possible available. Its really diff, not being able to bank and to have that much to use.

Hosses donot come around very often but will retire around 40 no matter what. So glad we already accomplished a dynasty with 81 being part. Really wanted to get a 4th with Hoss. Looks lie a 4th or possible 5th are 19/88/2 (only guys to prob play 20yrs on team). I donot care what yrs we win as long as we win a 4th or moar.

Wall, haha, those flatlanders cant get to you.

  • October 2, 2017 at 8:54 pm

    Garrison 4.6m , McNabb 1.7m and Sbisa 3.6m but he wouldn’t be a great addition I don’t think.

  • October 3, 2017 at 12:03 pm

So I guess SB got tired of waiting on Jurco to do something too, Tootoo best days were well behind him and Berube was brought in in case Forsberg totally wet the bed. I’ll be curious to see if Jurco signs on anywhere. A shame the Hawks lost a 3rd rounder for a guy who contributed zero since being acquired.

  • October 3, 2017 at 12:15 pm

Jurco still has a contract with the Hawks.
