Report: Kirby Dach Can Stay in the WJC

A report on Thursday indicates Kirby Dach can represent Canada in the World Junior Championships later this month – and into January.

Translation: the Blackhawks have informed Hockey Canada that Dach can remain at the World Juniors as long as he doesn’t miss regular season NHL games.

The WJC tournament is scheduled to conclude on Jan. 5, which is roughly one full week before the NHL regular season would potentially start (Jan. 13 is the most recent reported target date).

Brilliant. Having the chance to play for your country is such a unique opportunity and this year‘s tilt will be held right in his backyard – even better. Should be another great tournament. On y va big man!

I saw the Canadian coach interviewed after the scrimmage yesterday and when asked what was his first impression – he said the McMichael-Cozens-Dach line. Others called it a super-line. Notice Dach on the wing rather than playing center. I’m kind of happy about that because it gives the Hawks an opportunity to see how he does playing wing. I think he is a natural center so I’m not reading anything into it but it can’t hurt to know he can slide over to wing and play effectively.

Watch Cozens work great with Dach. Then ER we get Cozens Okposo Girgeson and a 21 #1 and 22 # 2 for Kane retaining nothing.

On record that I DO NOT want to trade Kane. Needs to be lopsided for me to do so.

According to John Shannon the NHL is looking to buy massive amounts of doses of the vaccine for all the players in the league as soon as it’s available to buy for private sell. Also the league is looking at letting some publicity on the players helmets for the coming season. But nothing on the shirt for this year.
It would be a very nice experience for Dach to play for team Canada with kids of is age and get that kind of experience.

Hawk4 life … tu a bien raison ..Dach va continuer de s’épanouir pour encore quelques années .tres heureux de l avoir avec les Hawks pour le futur.

JR – wouldn’t want Girgensons – he’s a bottom-6 guy who hasn’t scored more than 19 points in the last 5 seasons. I’d rather retain some salary to make it work for Buffalo than take Girgensons $2.2M cap hit off their hands.

EB Rap agree with stats but I believe it can be easier to move 2.2mil with a body if we have to than say 4mil without a body. Most we can retain is 1.1mil trading Gir in a year to some one that might need size and a body for a cheap 1.1mil.

Yea it would have to be lopsided. Look at what Brady did to Patriots.

We just need to load the young wave somehow. Then add out Oduyas Maddens Krugs Frozals Richys Vermettes Hands kind of players to go with who we have and that should be good.

    Goalie?
