Report: Stan Bowman To Be USA Hockey’s GM for 2022 Olympics

On Monday evening, TSN’s Frank Seravalli tweeted that Chicago Blackhawks GM Stan Bowman is expected to be named the GM of USA Hockey’s team for the 2022 Winter Olympics. A press conference to make the announcement is reportedly on Wednesday.

Seravalli also reports Minnesota’s Bill Guerin will be among those helping Bowman build the roster.

Guess that means the U.S. team won’t get out of pool play.

Good for Stan – I guess not everyone thinks thinks he’s an incompetent boob who only got his job because his dad is Scotty Bowman and who couldn’t carry Dale Tallon’s jock or maybe they do think that but hired him anyway because he’s Scotty’s son and it plays well in the media which is what USA Hockey really cares about

Or could it be that he’s seen in the larger hockey world as a competent GM

Yes,by the time the Olympics roll around he will have the Hawks all squared away and on auto pilot. Maybe its time to get a GM into place and move Stan into the President role.
