I see Bob Pulford didn’t get asked to coach the Blackhawk alumni. LOL.

Oldest Blackhawk alumni players are Jerry Korab (67) and Cliff Koroll (69).

Goaltender Gilles Meloche (MN) played for both teams, as did one of Minnesota’s coaches, former defenseman Tom Reid.

Jerry Korab displayed some real brute force and offensive skills. I remember when Carol Vadnais ( Bruins) damn near took Jerrys head off with his stick and he was bleeding profusely and all hell broke loose …even Bobby Hull got into it. At 67 years old not so sure we get to see that brute force but I sure as heck would not want to face him on the ice at any age! Reggie Kerr good old Saskatchewan boy had some decent years with us. Just loved those old Blackhawk teams, they were very special and unique. Every September I would state boldly to all that this was our year, but of course that never happened until 2010…it was a real treat to see the Blackhawks on a national telecast, usually on the CBC if they played Toronto or Montreal. Great memories.

CBC telecasts were Wed. nights in Montreal and Saturday nights in Toronto and when the Blackhawks came to these cities that was sacred in my house and there I was glued to every little thing during the game and hung on every word at the intermissions…those Hot Stove discussions were amazing, Ward Cornell, Howie Meeker…and the commercials in the late sixties into the early seventies Esso ads featuring your gas jockey filling your tank and wearing a peak cap and tie with a tight buttoned jacket…with, of course, the tire pressure gauge neatly clipped to the front pocket. Thought I would inform all the youngters here how it was and what they missed. Who knows maybe it will come around again.

Tab i haven’t seen anything about it, do you know if any network will televise this game.
This is a great opportunity for any of the “newer,” Hawks fans to learn about a great hockey rivalry!!

    Dino Sucks.

Thanks, Mining Man, for those memories, awesome. Good one, Hoffy, about Pulford! No one ever, ever wants to see that s.o.b. darken our doors again. Wow, 22 Korab and 20 Koroll going to be out there. Would have liked to have seen Secord and Larmer on the roster. And BAAAAAANNNNNNNNNERMAN!! Wonder if they invited Olczyk, quite possibly not. Tony O and Foley behind the bench, that’s rich. Drunken line changes

And Savard should be wearing the “C”. 98% chance Chelli and Dino get into it, quite possibly for real.

    I have only one question:

Why are not Ed Belfour and Tony Amonte in the roster????

I bet Daze still has game. Too bad Probert can’t make it. RIP.
    Darren Pang should be there.
    Where is Alexei Zhamnov?
What about Enrico Ciccone? Damn It at least Dennis Bonvie

How about Phil Maloney (19 ironically!) as long as we are digging deep. I recall there was a montage at the start of the WGN news nightly that included a snippet of Maloney hammering on another player. Wonder where he is these days?

Correction just after submitting- it was Dan Maloney. Sorry.
