St. Louis Blues Acquire Marcel Goc
On Tuesday night, the St. Louis Blues acquired forward Marcel Goc from the Pittsburgh Penguins in exchange for Maxim Lapierre.
Goc, 31, as two goals and four assists in 43 games this season. Lapierre, who turns 30 at the end of March, has two goals and seven assists in 45 games this year.
“BIG deal”…?
I would love to know how that deal came about.
Gotta believe the Pens are looking ahead to their next game against Rinaldo and the Flyers. (See Letang, Kris, Jan. 20)
So… they traded two nickels for a dime? Big play by the Blues there.
Hey its one less total dick wad on St. Loser so it sounds ok to me. Could be 2 players that both need a change of scenery.
My interpretation of how this deal went down,……
John Davidson, ” I’m looking for a replacement level bottom 6 forward”
Jim Rutherford, Oh I Goc cha!
In all seriousness I really hope the Hawks win tonight, I’d feel much better if the Kings didn’t make the playoffs so lets not help them. Lets hope the Hawks not only take 2 pts but don’t let the Kings pick up the pity point either.
Does anybody else feel we need too make a move for a solid D-man. Oduya/Rosy/Runbad aren’t gonna cut it for play-offs!!!!
BTW… Davidson is the president of hockey operations of the Columbus Blue Jackets (and formerly of the St. Louis Blues).
I believe the Pens are trying to become “harder to play against” thus the addition of Max Laprierre…
Therefore, one less thug in the Central Division.
I think that Stan is waiting to see if TVR gets back from his injury and how he performs. My gut tells me that TVR is out for the season and we will need to make a deal for a veteran that will have a low price tag and will be a rental player for the playoffs.
If this doesn’t happen, Q will rotate Rosy in and out of the lineup throughout the playoffs. I still think Johnny O has one good playoff run left in him and Runblad will be okay if he is put into the right situation by Q.
Q loves Rosy and Johnny O. Even though they have some mileage on them, they are seasoned veterans that are battle tested and know how to throw it into high gear in the playoffs. They don’t get rattled when they are under siege in there own end!!
I hope TVR comes back, though. I like that kid!!
