TSN Coaches Poll: Western Conference Coaches Show Blackhawks Respect

TSN released the results of a poll of NHL coaches, and the results showed a lot of respect for what the Blackhawks are accomplishing this season from their rivals.

In the survey, 13 Western Conference coaches were asked to pick a winner for the Hart, Vezina, Norris, Selke, Calder and Jack Adams awards. Because of the lockout limiting this season to only in-conference games, the coaches were only allowed to pick players from the Western Conference; 12 coaches from the Eastern Conference also named their winners.

Jonathan Toews was the “overwhelming choice for Hart Trophy” and the Selke; Patrick Kane was also mentioned for the Hart. Brandon Saad was the top top vote recipient for the Calder. Chicago head coach Joel Quenneville earned the most votes as the league’s best coach.

While Minnesota’s Ryan Suter received the most votes for the Norris, Duncan Keith received multiple mentions. And Columbus’ Sergei Bobrovsky was the choice for the Vezina, but both Corey Crawford and Ray Emery received votes.
