Victor Ejdsell Joins IceHogs

On Tuesday the Chicago Blackhawks assigned forward Victor Ejdsell to Rockford.

Chicago acquired Ejdsell in the trade that sent forward Ryan Hartman to Nashville at the trade deadline. Listed at 6-4 and 214 pounds, the 22-year-old forward shoots right-handed. He scored 20 goals in 50 games for HV71 Jonkoping in the Swedish Hockey League this season.

Ejdsell signed his two-year, entry-level contract with Nashville last summer; he has a $833,750 cap hit through the 2018-19 season.

Vitali Kravtsov– Russian draft kid… Putting up HUGE Numbers in KHL post-season… supposed to be great skater…

Anyone out there- actually see this kid play???

Not in most Scouts NHL 1st round Mock drafts…. BUT- gotta think – he just earned a Mid 1st round Pick- upgrade with this KHL/Post season….

Kucherov Lite… ??? Kucherov with better MHL numbers then Vitali at same age…
Vitali with better KHL #’s at same age…

Hard to believe Yzerman- stole Kucherov in 2nd Round !!!

He is a left-hand shot. So this is good, let’s see what he brings.

Hopefully Ejdsell isn’t an Edsel – for those of us old enough to know what that means.

Ejdsell- just watched another clip of his hilites…

    The Ejde- has awesome hands
Ejde- has Heavy/High wrist shot- Should be an Impact On PP– now!!!
Ejde- is better than anyone on Hawks right now at deflecting point shots on net…
Ejde- is a very nimble/agile skater for someone over 6’4″… the polar opposite of JHayes
    Ejde- has decent vision…

Speed- Only 2 clips – showed skating over blue lines… one showed great agility
the other showed pretty good speed (albeit versus SHL guys)

I have high hopes on The Edje!!!

    Ouch-recliner may be right?

Still no body touching anyone in front of the net-even the big, tough Sedin twins

I think Q needs to go as well. Once again, tonight everyone is playing on their off wing??? Why? Hayden shoots right, playing left. Martinson shoots left, playing on the right.
Highmore shoots left, playing right??? Jurco shoots left, playing right???

Really, this is seriously wrong. Moving the puck out of our zone, players playing on their wrong is tough unless you are Kane or Hosaa. But when you have two wingers on the same line playing their opposite wings, having to make a pass on your backhand slows neveryone down. Ask Mike Babcock what he thinks about that? Ask Gerard Gallant? Ask everyone!!!

    We need new blood.

The best goalie at the WJC was Gustafson of Sweden (now a Senator after being drafted by the Pens) who was also overlooked by Stan Bowman in the 2nd round 2016. Along with Carter Hart, Canadian goalie!!!

    Embarassing!

Any eye witness reports on Edjsell’s Rockford debut last night? I saw he got an assist om the Hogs 5-2 loss … but I’m wondering how he looked. Is he a good skater for a tall guy or a Jimmy Hayes type?
